Two ingredients, five minutes, and a snack that won't leave you wired before bed. Banana slices sandwiched with almond butter make a small, satisfying bite that curbs a craving without turning into a second dinner. A dash of cinnamon on top makes it feel a little more like dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana, sliced into rounds
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp dark chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Spread a small amount of almond butter onto half the banana slices.
  2. Top with remaining banana slices to form little sandwiches.
  3. Sprinkle with cinnamon and a few dark chocolate chips if using.
  4. Freeze 20 minutes for a firmer bite, or eat right away.

Why This Is Good for Your Gut

Banana provides prebiotic fructooligosaccharides that feed beneficial bacteria overnight without demanding much of your digestive system. Almond butter offers healthy fats and protein that keep the snack satisfying without a sugar spike, and the small portion size keeps late-night eating light rather than heavy.

Keep them small. This is a snack, not a second dinner. If you like small make-ahead bites, our Does a Vegan Diet Improve Gut Health? guide explains why plant-based snacks like this one work well for digestion.
